What to expect
Child-led, unstructured play and community! Dagmar is there to provide shady spaces to gather on our mats, open-ended resources for your children to explore however they wish (as long as it's safe!), and to help parents and children make connections with one another and the environment around them.
Your child has autonomy to decide the direction of their own play, with limited boundaries. As the adults, we are there to support them, keep them safe and only intervene when absolutely necessary. This is your chance to observe how your child is playing, how they are moving, who they’re playing with, and what they’re interested in. See what kind of magic happens when you stand back and let things unfold!
The other beauty of standing back is that it gives you a chance to get to know the other adults in attendance, and maybe even build some friendships for yourself!
All our groups are open to all caregivers, and whānau can attend nature playgroup with children of any age.
WHERE?
Our location each week is dependent on weather forecast and tides/Safeswim, and we aim to rotate between central-ish locations, like: Pt Chevalier Beach, Cornwall Park, Takapuna Beach, Fowlds Park, Pt Erin Park , Underwood Park, Mt Albert Domain, Auckland Domain.
"We loved the lack of structure and how the session was entirely free play. I enjoyed watching my girls explore in nature with no agenda or plan. I loved how Dagmar describes the group as a ‘yes’ space. That now sits in my head when we’re exploring outside."
