Service Description

Welcome to the Imperfect Parents' Evening Group - a group for parents who may not be able to make it to our morning groups, but are still looking to connect with one another, share experiences, and build a supportive community. Fortnightly Thursday evenings 6.30-8.30pm 1st May - 18th June. 5 Sessions in total for the term. NB: 29th May session at different Sandringham location. Cost: $150 for the term. Koha spaces available. Facilitated by Joe Angus, a seasoned Dad, facilitator and educator. Enrolment in the group also includes access to: WhatsApp group for ongoing connection with others in group Imperfect Parents' Nature Playgroup for the discounted price of $5/session Access to the private Imperfect Parents' Facebook group The group is open to all parents regardless of whānau structure, gender identity or how many children you have. It is designed for you to attend alone, without your children. If you have heard that parenting is easier with a village, but weren't sure where to find it, this is the place. This is the group that many of our Imperfect Parents have been asking for: a group that has been set up with the wellbeing of parents at the forefront, because we know that social support is crucial for easing feelings of isolation, and increasing confidence and enjoyment in our roles as parents! The Imperfect Parents' Group is a safe, non-judgmental space for honest conversation and connection. Simple conversation starters and gently-guided facilitation means that discussions get to the nitty-gritty deep topics much more quickly than the awkward small talk that can happen on the sidelines of other social occasions, and everyone has an opportunity to talk. Discussions are guided by the needs of the group members on the day, rather than following a set 'curriculum', which means that information, support and advice is relevant to what attendees are going through right then and there. Sessions will explore topics like shifts in identity, learning to trust yourself and your child, responsive parenting and what this really means, navigating information overwhelm, parent wellbeing, relationship shifts, sleep, feeding, and much more! Previous attendees at Imperfect Parents' evening group have said: "Very safe and inclusive space, accessible information and good vibes." "Some great parenting hacks and hearing everyone else’s experiences and challenges is great" "Community. Solidarity. Support. An outlet." Questions: sophie@imperfectparents.co.nz

"I really appreciated having a regular space to come to each week where I was guaranteed support. I loved how the questions each week made me reflect on aspects of parenting/life I might not have otherwise thought about. I truly look forward to our group days!"
