If you have heard that parenting is easier with a village, but weren't sure where to find it, this is the place. This is the baby group that has been set up with the wellbeing of parents in the forefront, because we know that social support is crucial for easing parents' feelings of isolation, and increasing their confidence and enjoyment in their role!
The Imperfect Parents' Group is a safe, non-judgmental space for conversation, vulnerability, and connection. Simple conversation starters and gently-guided facilitation means that discussions get to the nitty-gritty deep topics much more quickly than the awkward small talk that can happen on the sidelines of other 'baby activity' groups, and everyone has an opportunity to talk. Discussions are guided by the needs of the group members on the day, rather than following a set 'curriculum', which means that information, support and advice is relevant to what attendees are going through right then and there.
Sessions will explore topics like: shifts in identity, learning to trust yourself and your baby, responsive parenting and what this really means, navigating information overwhelm, parent wellbeing, relationship shifts, sleep, feeding, and so much more!
Previous attendees have said:
"I have found my village! My confidence in my ability to be a mum and trust my own gut has grown tremendously."
"I have gained so much! Camaraderie, support, confidence, a safe space to vent. Have really loved having a safe and welcoming space to meet other parents and babies."
"I have found confidence in myself looking after a baby. It is helpful and reassuring to hear from other mums how things are going for them."
If finances are a barrier at all, please get in touch. There are koha spaces available, which means you give only what you can afford - the aim is for these groups to be accessible to absolutely everyone who would like to be there!
